Default What are your pet peeves? - 10-31-2009, 01:45 AM

What are some things that truly annoy you? I was asked this question in class the other day. Nothing came to mind at first, but then I reflected on things that have made me angry over the last few weeks. My biggest pet peeve is a person who only talks to you when they need something.

I don't like people who contact me for a reason. People who want me to do something without anything in return. Or people who don't like to pay attention to others.

Oh man, the list is sooo long... The most recent one I've encountered is when people @ work put stuff on my chair. Ugh. I have an inbox, I have a desk. What's with the chair? lol. I think they think I'll work on it faster if it's there. Truth be told, it goes to the bottom of the "to do" pile

I hate when 'I' is used wrongly, as in 'He emailed Mike and I.' An easy way to find out if it should be 'me' is to put the 'I' first before 'Mike,' and then it's quite obvious it's wrong.

I am peeved about people who take advantage of me under the guise of friendship. They ask and ask, knowing I will help them, to the point where I feel like the biggest sucker in the world. Thank heavens for caller i.d.

i thought of another! the inappropriate use of the apostrophe. it bugs me when people use an apostrophe to pluralize something. apostophes make things possessive, not plural. (note: apostrophes, not apostrophe's.)

wow, apostrophe is hard to type over and over again! lol

Smart asses and the overuse of "lol" on the internet even though I use it too. In classes there are people who talk while a professor is lecturing and that pisses me off.

A big pet peeve of mine is when people tailgate me when driving. Its really anoying and i dont even drive that slow. You need to let people have space instead of grinding the back of there car.

People who do you favors but are secretly keeping score, but only of ones they do for you, not the other way around no matter how lopsided it might be.

People who sit next to you on public transportation even when there are other seats available.

I couldn't think of any so I looked up a list and this one seemed good. When I lived in the city I used to ride the bus to get home or to the main city place.

Not exactly a personal pet peeve, as it affects almost everybody...

I really HATE it when over 75% of people I know seem to exist for the sole purpose of using me (as in, getting me to do things they are too lazy to do.) It really affects me when I see that only 5 people out of the 92 people on my MSN friend list are true friends. (Make that five out of five, now. I made a new account this morning.)
