Default Guitar - 11-26-2009, 01:34 PM

Does anybody here play guitar? What songs can you play? I really want to learn how to play Hey there Delilah by the Plain White T's, Ho ho hopefully by the Maine, and Superhuman by Chris Brown. I'm really excited.

I just started to play. I'm actually self learning from the internet. Right now I'm trying to learn the chords and how to switch to them fast. Its really hard. Any suggestions?

I would love to learn how to play, I have a guitar. It's just, when I ever pick it up I get bored.
Do you write songs?

Well as soon as I learn all the chords and that I can see me writing songs, but I'm not so sure on lyrics. I use to actually rap a little bit, but I stopped, and now I suck. You should really learn, Its like so cool to imagine yourself playing.

You just have to be really into it and have the mind to teach yourself. The way you stop the pain is you just practice everyday and press hard on the strings. You develop these things in your fingers and the pain goes away

I'd really like to learn guitar and have wanted to for a while now. I may pick it up soon, now that I'm on my Uni break.

But alas, I love guitars. Really wish I could insta-play them though. :P

No I don't I own an electric guitar, and I own an acoustic, the acoustic hasn't been opened since last Christmas, The electric one was opened now I just sit there and make random non-sense with it. It's pretty bad. That's why I drum, I don't own a drum set yet, but I love to make beats on desks at school and stuff, I think drumming and creating beats comes naturally, and hopefully I do better on a drum set.

Best of luck to you while you learn how to play the guitar

Haha true that. I think playing the guitar is hot. You should definitely get one, maybe Guitar Center has a nice cheap one. And I don't have anyone to teach me as well. I'm teaching my self through internet.

the easiest way to learn guitar is to just pick a song. Find out the chors for it, then sit there for 2 hours or so just changing between them, keep doing that quick and quicker untill you can change smoothly without the buzzing sound of you not pressing your fingers against the frets cleanly. Once you can change well between them, find the song tab and just sit there listening to the music and playing the chors along to it. Thats how i used to learn.

I "play" it I guess, if you consider 4 notes a song.

oh, is that the trick not to feel the pain. i find it hard to press hard the strings. i guess i need to try it again to see if i can have the enough force or energy in my finger to press hard the strings.

I used to have a guitar when I was sixteen then my Mum went and gave it away to my cousin..I cried a lot but never got another once since..I used to be a professional singer though once upon a time.

Good luck! To be honest it's pretty easy. Seeing you're going to lessons it's probably going to be much easier. Hardest part is to switch chords. I've been slacking a bit, but I'm going to start and get on it a lot more starting sunday.
